Ebony Consort is a double bass – clarinet/saxophone duo formed in 2024, primarily playing their own compositions of a wide range of genres by gathering the elements of jazz, blues, folk and contemporary music. In their compositions written and instrumented for duo performances, the musicians make most of the unique artistic, sound and technical properties that are very own of their instruments.
Csaba Pengő earned his degree (as musician and teacher of jazz double-bass) at Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2004.
His instrumental solo debut album Circles of his own compositions was released in 2021.
His second solo album Autumn Rain in a Secret Garden came out in digital format in 2023, having won the prize of Solo Instrumental Album Of The Year of the international music platform Native DSD.
He plays his own compositions in his solo concerts whilst is actively contributing to numerous music productions (Little G Weevil Band, Ágoston Béla QRtet, The Abstract, Kobza Vajk Sextet).
Bálint Uher-Győrfi graduated from the jazz-saxophone department of Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2022. Starting his music education on classical clarinet his interest turned towards jazz and the saxophone itself. He is actively on tour as a member of many bands and productions (Orbay Lilla Quintet, Tribute To Füsti Balogh Band). Besides his engagements as a musician he teaches music in Budapest.
